Wenatchee – Local elected and health officials will come together on Thursday to speak to the community in a townhall-style event that will be broadcast live for the public.

During the event, various local elected leaders will gather with Dr. Peter Rutherford, CEO of Confluence Health, and Dr. Malcolm Butler, health officer of the Chelan-Douglas Health District, to speak about the rapidly increasing cases of COVID-19 in Chelan and Douglas counties. Nate Weed, CDHD interim director, will host the discussion.

The event will be 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19, in the LocalTel Event Center of Pybus Public Market.

Because of COVID-19 restrictions on gatherings, the event is not open to the public. Instead it will be broadcast live by NCWLIFE on Charter’s channel 19 and LocalTel channel 12. The event will be available over the air, for people who use an antenna.

The event also will be streamed live on a variety of local medias’ social media. Media outlets have been invited to the event and will have an opportunity to ask questions of the speakers.

A video of the event with Spanish subtitles will later be available on the CDHD YouTube channel.

COVID-19 precautions, including masking and social distancing, will be followed during the event.
